Dr. Stephen McIntyre, M.D.
Family Physician 

Dr. Stephen McIntyre has practiced family medicine in Hickory for more than 20 years. He focuses on preventive medicine, including exercise, routine examinations, and healthy living habits. Dr. McIntyre received his undergraduate degree from Clemson University, where he graduated cum laude. He attended medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina, receiving his M.D. degree in 1984. During his three years of family practice residency at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia, Dr. McIntyre served as chief resident. He then spent four years with the Benton Family Health Care Center in Benton, Tennessee, where he was the medical director. He moved to Hickory in 1993 with his wife, Miriam, and their three children, because he enjoys the family-oriented community here. Dr. McIntyre has been certified by the American Board of Family Physicians since 1987.

May Lee, RN, FNP-C
Family Nurse Practitioner 

May Lee joined Dr. McIntyre’s practice in 2013. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Appalachian State University and later completed the nurse practitioner program at East Carolina University. May has worked as a nurse in various clinical positions since 2006. May is bilingual, speaking fluently in both Hmong and English.

Kenneth Anderson, MS, PA-C, CME, RRT
Physician Assistant

Kenneth Anderson joined Dr. McIntyre’s practice in November of 2015. He has worked as a certified physician assistant since 2005 in the areas of internal medicine, cardiothoracic surgery, and urgent care. In addition to his certification as a Physician Assistant, Ken is also a Certified Medical Examiner for the Department of Transportation and a Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician.
